If there's a region in Class 7A where the offseason transfer movement could completely reshape the championship race, Region 7 might be the one.

Peachtree Ridge enters the 2026–27 season as our preseason favorite after what might have been the most productive offseason of any program in the region. The Lions added several significant pieces, including a talented frontcourt tandem, an experienced point guard, and additional depth to a program that has already enjoyed considerable postseason success in recent years.  But winning this region won't be easy.

For the better part of the last several years, Lambert has been the standard of basketball excellence in Forsyth County. The Longhorns enter the 2026–27 season having won 28 consecutive games against county opponents and an astonishing 49 of their last 50. Those numbers are impressive by any measure, but with the graduation of the school's all-time leading scorer and rebounder, Will Dopfer, the question becomes whether Lambert can continue its remarkable run without the player who helped establish that dominance.

Winning a state championship is hard.  Winning two consecutive state championships is even harder.  But winning three straight?  That's the kind of accomplishment that puts a program into some pretty special company.

There are certain regions in Georgia where you look at the returning talent and immediately recognize that you're going to see some really good basketball.

And then there are regions where you look at the talent and realize you're going to be watching some of the state's biggest stars for the next three or four years.

Welcome to Region 4-7A.

There are good basketball regions in Georgia.  There are competitive basketball regions in Georgia.  And then there's Region 3-7A.

When you start looking at the programs, the returning talent, the incoming transfers, and the college prospects scattered throughout this region, it doesn't take long to understand why this is going to be one of the most entertaining regions in the entire state.

If there's one thing I've learned from evaluating high school basketball across Georgia, it's that you can never underestimate the importance of experienced guard play.

Especially when February rolls around.

And when I look at Region 2-7A heading into the 2026–27 season, that's ultimately what separates my preseason favorite from the rest of the field.

Region 1-7A: Valdosta Leads the Pack, but Richmond Hill and Camden County Have Something to Say

Three weeks. Fifteen brackets. A whole lot of basketball.

The third and final session of the Swish Scouting & BTS Report Fall League wrapped up Sunday at Therrell High School in Atlanta, and if there was ever a way to put an exclamation point on three weeks of basketball, we certainly found it.

We had a game-winning four-point play as time expired. We had teams overcome double-digit deficits, others survive furious last-minute comebacks, and some of Georgia's top available seniors going head-to-head in matchups that certainly lived up to their billing.

But perhaps my biggest takeaway from Week 3 was just how much talent remains available in Georgia's 2027 class.

Week 2 of the Swish Scouting & BTS Report Fall League returned to Therrell High School with another loaded field, and if Week 1 was about overtime, buzzer beaters and statement victories, Week 2 somehow found a way to provide even more drama.

Three of the five bracket championship games were decided by just two points. Another featured arguably the most impressive comeback of the entire Fall League, while the final bracket gave us an opportunity to get an extended look at several prospects who made long trips to Atlanta to compete.

More importantly, Week 2 continued to accomplish what we wanted when putting this league together: give teams an opportunity to compete against quality opponents while putting prospects in situations where we can evaluate them when the game actually matters.

Some players backed up what we saw in Week 1.

Some familiar names continued to climb.

And several new ones put themselves firmly on the Swish Scouting radar.

As the season is about to tipoff this month, here is the latest updated rankings of the Top 100 Available prospects in the Georgia 2027 class. Several names came off the board this month, making way for several new names to appear. Read below to see the latest edition of Georgia’s Top 100 Available for this year’s senior class.

The Swish Scouting & BTS Report Fall League wrapped up Sunday at Therrell High School with a full day of basketball that featured 20 teams, 20 games and five bracket champions.

With programs from across Georgia — along with Chattanooga Prep making the trip from Tennessee — the event provided teams with another opportunity to compete before the start of the high school season while giving players a chance to showcase themselves in front of the Swish Scouting and BTS Report staffs.

By the end of the day, five teams had earned bracket championships, but they did so in very different ways. There was an overtime championship, a title decided by a last-second three, a pair of convincing performances and another championship game that nearly turned into a dramatic comeback.

September 19th was the Swish Scouting Georgia Top 100 Camp at Marietta High School in Marietta, Georgia.  160 of the state's hottest prospects from all classes who stood out from the Georgia June Swish Summer Circuit were invited to participate in this one day showcase camp.  In a camp that featured over 100 guys who more than likely will all play at some level of college basketball after their prep careers are over, the competition level was high, size all over the place, and tons of breakout performers.  To see who was the best of the best at this exclusive camp, read below to see who brought it to Georgia Top 100 Camp this year:

This past Sunday in Americus, Georgia, the Georgia JUCO Practice Day event took place representing NJCAA Region 17.  Six teams participated in the event taking advantage of the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of a good number of college coaches from across the region from the four year NCAA level and even NAIA.  In a league that has a lot of new faces this year, there was no shortage of talent on display from across the globe and should make for a very exciting league race this year to see who will represent the region at Hutch this year in the NJCAA National Championship tournament.  To see the breakdown for each team, read below to see more….

As we begin the school year, the new rankings are out for the Swish 2027 Top 100 Available here in the Peach State. As some names came off the board that are heading to prep schools, and one commitment, there’s some new faces and changes to the rankings with plenty of talent to go around in the class that is deep this year…..

This weekend is the JUCO Showcase & JUCOrecruiting.com All-American camp featuring the top JUCO players from across the country.  One of the top events of its kind in existence, the gym was littered with college coaches in the building to check out the top junior college guys returning and are looking to make that next jump up to the four year level.  There was no shortage of size and talent to go around in this star-studded event, and read below to see who the top guys are from today who are sure to make the division one ranks sooner than later….

Thursday marked the Open session #4 of the JUCO Showcase in Morrow, Georgia.  120 players were in the gym vying for a spot in the weekend showcase featuring the top JUCO players in the country.  With only ten spots or so up for grabs in the weekend event, the competition was heavy on both courts as players had two opportunities to get one of those highly coveted spots.  After watching all 12 teams play, read below to see who made my top list from the day……
