Thoughts & Observations From The 2025 Adidas Legacy Preseason Showcase at Southwest Dekalb
November 1st was the Adidas Legacy Preseason Showcase event that featured 8 schools’ boys and girls programs. There were four boys games and four girls games at Southwest Dekalb that tipped off the day with Stone Mountain versus McNair, and went all day and ending with a thriller between Southwest Dekalb and Cedar Grove that went on into the Dekalb, Georgia night past 11 and ending in dramatic fashion. This past Sunday was day three of three for the Swish Scouting Fall League over at Therrell High School in Atlanta, Georgia. There was talent from different corners of the state in the building, a packed environment for fall ball, and an abundant amount of talent across all brackets of play. With a number of unique and close matchups, the competition level was high over at the gym that Anthony Edwards once called home, and there were several prospects that left college coaches asking for more information about. October 11th was the Swish Scouting Georgia Top 100 Camp at McDonough High School in McDonough, Georgia. 103 of the state's hottest prospects from all classes who stood out from the Georgia June Swish Summer Circuit were invited to come participate in this one day showcase camp. In a camp that featured over 100 guys who more than likely will all play at some level of college basketball after their prep careers are over, the competition level was high, size all over the place, and tons of breakout performers. Thoughts & Observations From The 2025 Georgia JUCO Practice Day at South Georgia Tech
This past Saturday in Americus, Georgia, the Georgia JUCO Practice Day event took place representing NJCAA Region 17. Nine teams participated in the event taking advantage of the opportunity to showcase their talent in from of a good number of college coaches from across the region from the four year NCAA level. In a league that has a lot of new faces this year, there was no shortage of talent on display from across the globe and should make for a very exciting league race this year to see who will represent the region at Hutch this year in the NJCAA National Championship tournament. With the NJCAA allowing four scrimmage dates, there will be plenty of basketball to take in starting in October to catch the JUCO teams getting after it in many different jamborees around the country. There are nearly 100 returning All-Region players this year in the Division 1 NJCAA, and while many are returning to their respective programs, some have moved on to new programs. This past Saturday in Norcross, Georgia the Underrated Hoops Elite 30 showcase was held at the Best Friends Park Gymnasium, and there was no shortage of local talent on hand. While there were some familiar names in the gym showing up and showing out, there was a handful of new players in the gym as well who showed that they got game and are worthy of college looks themselves too. In an event that had a ton of really notable length, shooting, and all around athletes, this was an event that lived up to the expectations and didn’t disappoint. The 2025 EYBL Peach Jam is now in the books, and the Brad Beal Elite squad defended their title as they took down a New York Rens team in the championship game this year that was a revamped squad this year and tested them. With the final live period of July about to take place, some colleges are looking to get a head start already on the younger classes. There were 158 Georgia varsity basketball teams in June that played in a Swish Scouting Circuit event, and there was a plethora of young talent out there that showed up and showed out all June. The final weekend of the June High School live period for high school teams went out with a bang! There were 30 teams looking to get one last run in at Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Georgia where there were three divisions of great talent to go around. There were some familiar faces who have had stellar June’s and put themselves on the map, and there were some new faces who showed off their talents and skills who cracked the list from the weekend and moved up the rankings.
